change of pace

well this is day two of my 'taking it easy' week...

and it's been great to just sit and smell the roses...it's not very often that I get a bit of 'me-time'.

So this morning I was sitting out on the porch in the most gorgeous morning sun...staring at the little view of the city we get from our house (pitty about the power-lines!). Coffee in one hand, pen in the other, I got to journal for the first time without feeling rushed or the need to be somewhere or do something. It was a rather pleasant yet weird feeling, but one I definitely need to do more often. I love how sometimes when i feel i don't quite have the energy to pray, the pen flows so beautifully, page after page. When I was in Africa, there was so much inspiration and beauty around, it was such an awesome thing to be able to journal..it was very easy. I often feel at ease when I am surrounded by beauty, especially in nature.

But then sometimes there are days when then pen just doesn't want to flow and the words can't come out of my mouth to pray. Ever had those days? I find when i struggle to journal or pray...the ipod does wonders. A lil Hillsong turned down real low is the sweetest lullaby when i can't sleep...try it, it works!

Why do we struggle to find that 'quiet-time'?...procrastination perhaps?..i think thats a biggie for me!...the washing needs hanging out...what about the dishes!?...there's always something else I could be doing instead of my quiet time!

...distraction? definitey!...i forgot to call so and so...i wonder whats for dinner?..phone calls! I really want to get through a chapter of a book, or even a few pages of the Bible without feeling distracted - Lord please help me!

Africa

I'm so inlove with this song

Africa
I came to change you but instead you changed me
And I confess I came to frame you in a photograph
But you showed me why
And you turned this heart around
And I see your smile how it can be
So much brighter than me
And your silent eyes they scream
Of hunger and meaning and eternal dreaming

Africa

Africa
We smiled at you from behind the glass
And without reserve and whiter than snow
You smiled back at us
And you showed me who

And you turned this mind around
And I see your hands reach out to God s
o much higher than ours
And your silent eyes they scream
Of hunger and meaning and eternal dreaming
Africa

Afrika mimi naku penda

things I love re-visited..

I do these every once and while, lots of fun :P

Things I LOVE:

• I LOVE Jesus….you are my world, my life, my soul. I love you forever.

• I LOVE reflecting on an amazing impact trip to Rwanda…the photos, the memories, the beautiful faces of the little people – planning my next trip!

• I LOVE the coffee machine at work…oh how I will miss you when I leave at the end of August! :P

• I LOVE a warm bowl of porridge with extra honey and a dash of milk on a cold Winters morning…oh yeaah

• I LOVE cocooning myself in my doona on a freezing morning (especially on weekends!)…but not when my cat decides to jump on my bed and lick my ears and nose :|

• I LOVE serving in my church.... not only is serving God an awesome privilege, but meeting fabulous people and helping them on their journey with God is just as good!

• I LOVE singing and rockin’ along in my car to some cool tunes….so not caring about the people who give me funny looks hehe – fav music right now: Keane – Under the Iron Sea and Delirious? – The Mission Bell.

• I LOVE Me & God time. Praying, journaling, or totally just sitting still and being quiet in his midst…nothing like it.

i'm sure there are more...can't think..after all it is Monday

what do you love?

luv Cath xxx
